Party Hearty Gift Carrier Class

A few weekends ago, I was blessed with a visit from a very good friend of mine… Kathy Schmitt.  Those of you who know me know that a visit with Kathy means staying up until the wee hours of the morning stamping, sleeping for three or four hours, then getting up to do it all over again!  At the end of any “Kathy Weekend” we are pumped up about our creations and have lots of new ideas from our mega stamping sessions!

 

This last visit was a special treat. Kathy and I made lots of wonderful projects fueled by friendship and caffeine.  She always has such fun ideas and we work very well together.  In fact, this Friday night’s Party Hearty Gift Carrier Class is the result of our collaboration.  I came across the idea a while back.  It turns out, Kathy had seen these adorable milk carton gift carriers and had wanted to create one.  The result is this adorable “Party Hearty Gift Carrier”!  Thank you, Kathy, for your design efforts… you are so talented!

Your $20 registration includes everything needed to make these four adorable milk carton gift boxes, complete with a handy-dandy carrier (please bring your favorite adhesive and scissors).  These are the perfect touch for presenting special little gifts such as gift cards, chocolates, jewelry, etc.  Bring your camera to class to take pictures of carriers I have created for other occasions – Baby Shower, Easter, Wedding, etc. This pattern is so versatile… you will find yourself using it time and time again!

Boo Banner

  Here is another project I designed for the Halloween Stamp Camp.  It's a Boo Banner made with the Pennent Die for the Sizzix Big Shot!

I pulled the colors for the banner from the Ghostly Greetings Double Sided Designer Series Paper: Basic Black, Going Grey, Kiwi Kiss and Pumpkin Pie.  The letters were traced using the On Board Simon Lower chipboard letters as a pattern.  I cut them out and inked the edges Going Grey Classic Ink.

Black brads hold the pennents together and Kiwi Kiss Striped Grossgrain, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie Grossgrain Ribbons complete the look.

Spooky Tree

  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays... next to Christmas, of course!  As soon as the hub-bub of going back to school settles down, I find myself slowly pulling out my Halloween decor and tucking them here and there around the house.  Once Ben's birthday passes (this Sunday) it's no-holds barred!  All of my spooky decorations will be coming out!

This Spooky Tree was inspired by one I saw at Convention.  My take features different ornaments - medallions created with the scalloped circle punch, longer treat baskets and the sweetest little witches' hats (look for a tutorial on how to make these with the Sizzix Big Shot soon!)! 

My girlfriend Kathy Schmitt helped me design the decorations for this project (THANK YOU, Kathy!!!) You can make a tree for your home, along with a sweet "BOO" banner and special Halloween Card featuring a mosaic technique at the Halloween Stamp Camp on Friday, September 26th!  Visit my demo website at www.skidamarinkers.stampinup.net for full details or email me to register.
